I thought that Shooting Star was a Maco product? At least it used to be. Palomar is a widly used and abused name today for some reason. |

More than likely it's the typical two transistor amplifier using a pair of 1446s similar to the Palomar white or black face, maybe similar to the "Trucker 200". Without seeing it I can't say for sure. If it tests ok it's worth $50-$80. |

I don't know who makes the the thing, but I do know that it's a great little amp. I have had one for about four years now with absolutely no problems. clean audio and less TVI than most other amps I have had. |

i picked it up for $75. it's in good condition and works quite well. it looks exactly like this white tornado I used to have, except it has a yellow face and says shooting star.it has med/hi/low....preamp and automatic sideband. I did notice that on ssb when i talk with it on it swings the mod meter backwards. am I putting to many sideband watts into the amp? |
