Hello,
I am fairly familuar with CB 11 meter and currently reside in Michigan. My question is>..I am unfamiluar with the "newer" CB radios and base stations around. I used to have a Cobra 2000 base staion , with a lollipop base mic on it and it cranked...that however was a longggg time ago. I need to start again from scratch and don't know whats out there, whats good..etc etc...I am in a trailer park so I want a good base system..the works, but dont have any stores that I know of to research anything myself..any suggestions on where or what I might wanna get? I want a decent system to get out far without interferring with my neighbors as much as possible? or them even knowing I have a station up..any suggestions? All input is GREATLY appericated...post it here or email me at MsDivaDeja@aol.com Thank you very much

If you want legal 40chs, look at the Galaxy 2547.
If you want export I'd strongly consider the Magnum 257 mobile on a power supply. Both available at Copper.

Ms Deja,

To avoid disturbing your neighbors, make sure your set-up is as clean as possible.

What I mean by that is: to correctly install the antenna with appropriate grounding, run an unmodified radio on the legal CB channels, and be as pleasant as possible.

There is always a possiblity of interfering with telephones, TV, radios, and such. Even though in most cases this interference is the fault of the telephone, etc., the nicer you are the easier it is to resolve the problems with your neighbors.

If you run a modified radio, or an "export" radio, or an amp on the CB band, you increase your chances of causing problems.

Good luck, and have fun!

Bob

RE 671

Just curious, I looked up the radio you mentioned in your post. Not bad looking. But above it there is a nice TEXAS RANGER 696F as well. Just curious, why the 2547 over the 696? As I said just curious?

2547 just a little more modern, not that much difference.
