Who and exactly were is this guy? I heard him on CH 19 today and a few times before. He then askes if drivers want their radios fixed and then tells them to go to CH 21 and gives them directions to his shop... Im just curious thats all becasue he sounded good and loud here were i live. I did give him a hollar and he didnt hesitate one second to come back to me and said i sounded great. No, i dont want to send ANY equipment to him just want to know what he runs and were he is exactly located.... |

Hoosier, there's one here in Arkansas you might hear when the skip is running. He has a CB shop at one of the truck stops just outside Little Rock, runs a heck of a station. I'm 70 miles from him and get 4-5 signal. He jumps from channel 19 to 28. |

..in alabama I have heard 2 different ones... one is a female voice from southern calif...almost sounds like a tape, usually saying same statement over and over about 20 seconds worth... the second is the one I think you are talking about ( go to channel 17, and stuff ).....good loud signals ( BOTH stations ) covered the locals up EVERY TIME...clean audio..no echo...just a clean sound from BOTH of them.................BIG FOOT |

Well here in Maine, when conditions are right, we have one on channel 40. And I think he is on I-40. But I can't recall. Now that I work in the daytime, I don't hear him when I get on after 6pm. But he always came in strong, and seemed to know his stuff. |

He's the CB Shop at I-40 exit 108 west of OKC. He runs SEVERAL KWs on that station. He can do s20+ out to 30 miles+. I know. I live 30 miles from that shop. I've had a couple of radio worked on there and bought a 2950 once. |

I'll be damned if I didn't turn on my radio this evening on the way back from the office and sure enough, I heard the same guy, skipping down to here in Florida! Was about 9PM EST, he was trying to lure in customers on 19... Then he said to switch to channel 27, so I followed him. He was rattling off prices of his services...Then was saying something about the smell of fish around where he was and his exact location off I-10, I guess he was next to some restraunt, and that the smell was the restraunt, not the nice lady waiting on tables inside! Whatever kind of setup he's got, it has one HELL of a swing, even on the skip he was giving me 5 s-units swinging to about 7 1/2! 747 , Cocoa Beach FL |

What about Florida? Myself and a couple other locals heard him yesterday again for about 5 minutes. One of the normal local instigators went to 27 and tried to agitate him, and felt pretty stupid when I told him the guy was out of state. Skip was rolling pretty hard for a short while yesterday, so no, I don't think it's too far of a stretch of the imagination to think that we could hear him here in Florida. |

...why would a cb shop need to advertise on the air of their business ? word-of-mouth on their reputation, or high/low prices would draw in the customers...sounds like some thing shady may be occuring....( lol )...BIG FOOT |

What i find wierd is he gets on CH 19 then tells the drivers or whomever to go to like CH 21 or so. then when he gets on there he will tell the drivers "oh your radio doesnt sound loud and your only 5 miles away better bring it into my shop" or "your radio sounds bad better bring it to my shop" or whatever then he coaxes them into his shop.. Funny to me it seems.......... |
