Depending on the type of vehicle you have and if you know of some one that can do some fabricating, you can purchase a Leece-Neville, they have 165's, 200's and 250's. I find the Leece's are far better than the one's from powermaster. I have four of them mounted on my Ford 150 with no problems. |

The nice thing about powermasters are they are drop in plug in replacements for late model vehicles. They produce at least 50% amperage at idle and full out at 3000rpm. Leeces are heavy duty no doubt, but large and require serious rpms to get max amperage. I suggested powermaster for price, performance, ease of installation, and warranty. |

TRY JEGS OR SUMMIT RACING, YOU CAN FIND BOTH ON THE NET. OR CHECK YOUR LOCAL ALTERNATOR / STARTER SHOP AND THAY CAN PROBABLY UPGRADE YOURS OR BUILD YOU A NEW ONE. AND AS TECH671 SAID THE POWERMASTERS ARE DROP IN / PLUG IN AND GO! |

Check with your local alternator shop, even your dealer where you bought the vehicle. They can usually point you in the right direction of a reputable place that can rebuild the one you have and make it a higher output alternator. Then you don't have to worry about any fabrication or wiring problems. Look for a shop that speciallizes in ambulance, firetruck sytems, they run a lot of juice for their applications and they're used to custom work. Plus they can have a custom size pulley put on as well. I get 70% output at idle with my 270amp.Along with the other suggestions you got already, these shops usually give a one year warranty on their work. |
