dang guys check out the new galaxys at www.galaxyradios.com then hit new for summer. the new models are galaxy dx48t and galaxy 93t. the 48t uses 2 2290 finals for a am/fm mode radio!!! and i guess the 93t uses i of the 2290 for the am/fm/ssb radio. they are rahter cool looking like the cobra night watch series only with the big meters. so whens copper getting these hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm????? i want one. |

I wish Galaxy would make a DX 99 V with a back lit face plate or knobs and replace the worthless robot fuction with something more usefull.Instead of dx48t how about a dx99 high power model with two 2290 finals with the large heat sink.I bet the would sell one hell of alot of that version. They also need to fix the frequency drift then the radio would be perfect.I have spoken to Galaxy a number of times regarding my ideas and they seem interested but we will probaly never see one.Dozer |

I agree, the robot thing is as useless as airbrakes on a turtle. I still think that if they were to put the mic right underneath the meter, that would be a selling point. They fit the little flashy light in there didn't they? In the middle of the radio is a terrible place for a mic. If they couldn't fit it under the meter then put it back on the side. Second, I would make the 99 with a 6 digit freq counter like dozer said. Who cares if it is switchable. Third, a seperate switch for the talkback. Easily modifiable and most shops put a switch in for the talkback when you buy it and have it set up, but it would be nice to have it easily accesible rather than on the back of the radio. I am not one to drill a hole in my radio for a switch. And last, I like the idea of the backlit face. Nice feature. My opinion, if the Connex 4800 dxle had the big meter, I would buy one of them over a 99 any day. |
