The P500 was one of the best ant. made by Hy Gain. But, they are narrow banded. But will handle lots of power. Don't remember right off hand how much.I have had a few of them and they worked well. Wish I would have kept one for a spare. :( The Maco 5/8 is compareble to the old P500.

Yes they are very narrow banded (only will handle the reg 40) but they do talk though!!! I also have a P 500 and another simliar antena the avanti version the sigma 5/8. A bit better on the badnwidth but still a great antenna!
