I was wondering if anyone knows if those radios that have a dedicated ch 9 switch can be adjusted to another ch like ch 1 or ch 40 ???????? Please reply to my email thanks Pat patshrum@owc.net |

CH 9 is a joke. Anymore you cannot make a contact there due to all the noise, linear users, and the bleed from CH 6. What a joke and pop comm keeps on trying to make it look like its worth its weight in gold....... Back in the mid 1970s it was an effective way to get help but nowadays its basically abused or ignored.... |

On some radios, the Ch 9 switch can be made into a Ch 19 switch by cutting a diode or the like inside. The drawbacks are that the display will usually still read Ch 9, and you cannot make it go anywhere else. |

With the popularity of cell phones an emergency channel on the cb isn't really needed. |
