Lately ive noticed a trend were I live that about 90% of all the CBers are obsesed with sounding loud and overdriven rather than nice and loud but clear and pleasant sounding. For example. heard a fella once that was talking on his galaxy saturn and the other guy asked him were he had it tuned. the guy said he had his tech tune it. The hand on the other end said "it sounds really sweet! Nice and clear and no noticable distorion!" Well the other guy asked "does it sound loud? Because i want it to sound loud!" He had a response that it didnt sound loud but it sure sounded good! Well after about a half hour the other guy with the sat came back on and he sounded like ••••! he said he removed every possible limiter he could find.. LOL |

That's idiotic! To spend all the cash on a good clean sounding station and then screw it up. Morons are alive and well. I took all the info I could find on this board and thanks to all here, my station is real crisp, clean, and even a bit loud, but ZERO distortion. Man I hate distortion. I have my buddy who to this day wants me to take my radio to the local CB shop and have a "swing kit" put in it. Let me see, have the local "limit cutter" tech put a swing kit in my Lincoln? I think not! Man I'll admit the guy can make a cobra scream, but unfortunately that covers quite a few channels up and down also. Can you say bleedover? Makes you wanna shake your head in sadness. I will not make the same mistake mentioned above by RCI2990.

I love you man,but not red spots.307 tuned my 2517 and it's loud and clear,if I want it to swing 30 instead of 15 all I have to do is crack the mike gain half way on my tup-9 stand and voila 3db increase in volume,bammo!lol and feeling warm and fuzzy. |

I had a teaberry stalker 15 that keyed up 4 watts and swung to 30 or so. It did all this and was really clean clear and yes, very loud but it had NO, None, zero ziltch limiters removed!! :-) |

to be loud and clear is a great goal some are loud but not clear some are clear but not loud
on the galaxy 88 and the super star 3900 i have
achieved both without distoration i think that i have reached the saturation point so i am going to leave it there |

Got one of those too RCI2990,really good radio,I can get my radios loud or clear but 307 can get both,loud&proud |

Seems everyone these days is into running everything all out and no wonder CB radio is like it is today. Splatter and distortion city here we go!! yeee haww!! Anymore its all about egos and pride more than fun! Hmmm. Could it be because a lot of those big power junkie guys actually found our or are finding out that they are inferior in bed with their wives and G/Fs so they have to take it out on the radio to get some pride?? LOL!

antenna man ill bet you can pick out thoes who know what they are doing by the fact you can UNDERSTAND them. You know back in the 60 there were no filters in cb sets a few had machinal filters very good but costly and +/- 2 channles was a good reciver. Want a treat lissen on 29.0-29.2 when 10 is open or on 7.290 to the guys on AM most sound as good as your broadcast station not like ch6 does here. Its just not that hard to sound decent on the air.... crank it down! |

I usually run 1/4to1/2 throttle but if I need it I got it,just like my blue pills,lol.Besides I'm on about ounce a month after 9 pm.The radio that is. |
