Can you pull a trailer with that jag? You'll need it for the power plant to run that 2.5K amp. just having fun. |

Bob, I am not real familiar with the X-force line but a linear of that size is sure to need a driver for it. I other words, you will most likely have to use a smaller amp to drive the big amp. One way to tell is to look at the specs on this monster and see what the recomended input power is. Your radio will probably not deadkey any more than 12 watts or so and the amp may need as much as 200-400 watts or more to even get it to turn on during keyup. One other thing to consider is your altenator in your vehicle. I am assuming this is going in a mobile. The current draw on a 2500 watt amp is going to be way too much for a stock altenator. Then, if you find out you need a driver, you will have to include the current draw of that amp too. If you do get this big brute, let me know before you key up so that I can turn my radio off. I wouldn't want you to burn the receive out of it. LOL. Hope this helps...Eddie |

i run a davemade 6 (6x2879) being driven by an m80 (2x2290). I have a 200amp alternator and was suprised that this wasnt quite enough jjuice. It wasnt until I added 3 deep cycle marine batteries, usud 1/0 wire from front to back, replaced the #8 wre from the alternator with 6 awg did i acheive full output of this setup of 1.2 kw. |
