I have my 2510 running to an A99 about 60' to the tip. None of my equipment is grounded. Does grounding accually help with RX & TX or is it just for protection? Maybe both? Thanks...Eddie |

Helps your receive by taking out as much static as possible. |

With your type of antenna, probably not very much. Check out the instructions for installation of your antenna. If they say do not ground the antenna then do not ground the antenna. Now there is a radial kit for that particular antenna if I remember correctly. Check out the Coppers Antenna section. A Radial system probably would help a little bit. BUT that does not mean that you should not ground your radio. Grounding is recommended in cases of lightning. And it also dicipates to the ground any stray charges that might build up in the the radio. |

He who does not ground is asking for mother nature to say HELLO! There is no good reason not to ground a antenna i live in TAMPABAY and just this last Friday we had a good storm at the jail ONE bolt of lighting took out 6 cameras and the controls to a rolling gate it that stuff had not been grounded all thoes wires went to a control room and blasted it ground its only smart! |
