I finaly made my mind up and thuoght I was going to get the 2950dx when I just had to stop by that radio shop thats on my way to work. He didnt have any but to make a long story short I left when he unbolted his 2970 with road devil from his car and sold it to me.I do have my concealed carry permit but I sware I didnt bring any heat into his store! |

10 ring, Good choice. That radio is a great performer. If your not into all the gadgets, then that is the one for you. Do yourself a favor, have it checked out on a good meter. I had a turbo which is the same board, just in a base station. It was a smokin radio when I kept it turned down(power). The further I turned it up, the less modulation I had. I found out later, after I got rid of it, that my tech had it turned up too high. It was deadkeying 15 bird watts on low and 75 on high. Correct me if I am wrong 307, but I believe this to be true. But if the sound and modulation is to your liking, then weld the cover screws in place and take a hammer and knock the knobs off of it so you cant mess with it and lose that sound.LOL!! I had a guy tell me to do that one time and I was just waiting for the oportunity to use it...Eddie |
