I got my 550 in good condition except for the meter was loose,yeah that's right,WAS,I know,I know I voided the warranty,but only after I tested it on ssb.Biased class ab no static on transmit good linearity.One thing though the pills are not mrf422(150)s they're sd1407(100)s not a heck of alot better than what my dad's using now,I was hoping for twice as much power a 3db increase.Man WATCH that drive mrf422s can take up to 15 watts each for short periods,but those sd1407s only 2.5 watts each,so again watch that drive or you'll smoke them.Seems to me the sd1726 would have been a better choice,falls right in the middle of them. |

I retested,got 3db increase,will dead key 200 and swing to 350 AM;will do 400 on ssb,so it IS just what I wanted.Hey my dx2517 will swing to 31watts no matter what the dead keys is,and was hitting 25 watts out of the box on ssb now it's doing 31 and I haven't had the top off yet. |
