anyone know how to open the clarifier,someone told me that the rci 8719 was not modifiable.i got upper and lower channels out of mine. |

The RCI8719 is modifiable, however it is rumored to be unstable in some of the Uniden radios. If yours is converted and it locks on, (TX and RX)whatever frequency you go to, you should be all right.
As far as the clarifier mod, which 148 do you have? The old one, the Malaysian one, or the 148F with the counter?
