A neighbor once had a "Weeping Willow" base antenna. It was 102" (1/4 wave) with 3 sloping 102" radials. Everything was made of solid aluminum rods about 1/4" or 5/16" diameter. These may work well in an attic. Does anyone know if these can still be found and where? Thanks Toolmaker |

...used to be every where here in northern ALABAMA , like the ASTRO PLANE, and the STARDUSTER, and a few of the SUPER magnum base antennas... heard a man say last night he had to go talk on his new CELL PHONE, that CB radio was NOT his primary way of communication any more, and he was on a base station !! |

Yeah! I remember that antenna! around here we called it a "Droopy Groundplane" or a "droopy loopy". They had one 102" radial and 3 102" radials as the groundplanes. Not much gain from them but they were a good short distance antenna. BTW i know were there are at least 5 or 6 of them that are no longer used. ;-) |
