I've got an Astatic 600 and,for what this is worth, have found it to be a good all around meter for most CB work. It is decently accurate and can put up with my KLV 1000 with no problems. |

a meter called Bulldog i think it was, is proving to be a very good lower budget watt meter that is still very accurate. vectronics makes some dual needle meters that alot of guys seem to like. |

A Dosy meter will work good too. If you are an average joe CBer then all you need is a meter like a Dosy, Astatic, Bulldog or a PDC. A Bird is ok if you are the techie type and like to work on equipment and need a meter that is balls on accurate and has very little swing but the avearge CBer doesnt need one IMHO. I used to own a Yaesu meter at one time and it was the best meter i ever owned but i practically gave it away for 20.00!!!! Oh well life goes on.. |
