Yes the 102" whip is the best all around cb antenna for 11 meters, and can handle just about anything you can put through it... |

I am not sure how much power a whip can handle, but they ARE aptly named "bridge bangers". My personal opinion is that the wilson 5000 is the best for my aplication. You could use the Wilson 1000 but if you are using that much power, you may want to consider the 5000. Same antenna, one does not get out any better than the other. The only difference is the power handling. K40's are also good antennas, but they cant handle the wattage that the wilson's can. Obviously I am partial, huh?...Eddie |

Honestly I have no problem with my 102" steel whip, I have it on my truck and its mounted up about 4 inches from the top railing of the bed with a 6 inch heavy duty spring, in other words its even higher than most, and I have had no problem with hitting bridges or thigs of that nature, I have hit tree limbs and the Mc Donalds drive through probly hates me, but no damage to the whip and swr's are almost flat, jmho..... 73's |

oh yes the 102 " steel whip is great ( but then so is the wilson & k - 40 antennas, even though I have NOT owned one )...nothing to get out of tune, no coil to break at either end..just a STEEL whip poking through the air saying " here is a dedicated radio operator " BIG FOOT |

ha ha ha on macdonalds my old 1973 VW type 2 we had a 2 meter 5db gain moble wip it was 7 foot tall and my brother took the car through a bank drive through that was covered he keep hearing POP POP POP and wonder why it was so dark behind him till he got to the window and they were not happy at all the 4foot lights that antenna had broke... ive never let him live it down either. I like the 102 wip cheep and works as well as any. |
