A while back I was browsing through the archives and found a subject about tuning to a certain freq and setting off car alarms. Now I cant find it. Can any one tell me this freq???? |

27.775 AM ...and I've tried it with no success. I tried the mall, movie theater parking lot, even Safeway parking lot. I'm sure I'll keep trying though. |

Viking, are you using enough, power? I am going to give it a shot at the drag races. I go there every Friday and these yuppy kids alway set their alarms to I guess show off, and when a loud car goes down the track, sometimes they will go off. They get mad when they have to leave the grandstands to go shut it off. If this works, I am going to laugh my butt off. If it doesn't, I guess I'll have to buy me a bigger amp. Clearing that with the wife maybe touchy. Anyhow, thanks viking. I'll let you know how I make out. |

Many car alarms are going digital......rf won't bother this type too much. |

dead key's about 200 and pep is around 700. I don't think they ever said how much is actually needed, but I figure I'm in the ball park. Let us know how it goes Biged. |

Viking, I am DKing around 150-170 and pep is right at 400 or a little better. If you cant do it with that amount of power, I may not be able to either. By the way, what kind of an amp are you using to get that much swing out of it? One would assume that it is an X-force. I tell you what, I've heard nothing but good reports from those amps. I think that is going to be my next investment...Eddie |

most are set off by fundamental overload (plain 27.xxxmhz). so the xxx part of the 27mhz really doesn't matter. as long as the rf is strong enough, it will trip the alarm. and any harmonics related should help with the triggering also. digital is just the signal riding on the carrier of the 'key chain activator' to turn it on or off. if you are familiar with dpl(dcs) or tpl(ctcss) it is very similiar. dpl is digital and tpl is analog. |

It depends on what type of alarm you are trying to set off. The alarm itself will not trigger just on RF overload because the microprocessor will ignore it unless the RF trips one of the sensors. True, digital still uses a carrier if your talking about a signal being transmitted or received, but hard wired systems are very resistant to just pure RF. Noise is much more likely to set the alarm off than an RF signal. |

This is more fun than car alarms.I have more fun with the folks at Radio shack.Walk into the store, check out all the radio controlled cars, making sure to leave them on.Then go out to your car/truck.If you can go to 27.195(if not go to ch.19),turn on the linier and key down while whisteling into the mic. Watch them chase the rc cars around the store! |

Biged, It's a Messenger M4V being pushed by a Connex 4800. The Connex dk's about 1.5 watts and SWINGS! I like the Radio Shack idea!!! R.S., here I come. |
