LOL!!! Sounds about normal! Next time y'all drive through Lincoln, chances are you will here a man on channel 19 that goes by the handle Groundpounder. He lives in a town just north of Lincoln. Don't know what type of radio he runs, but I know he runs alot of power and he has a MR4 on a 80' tower. I live 50 some odd miles north of him and he hits me at 7 and is loud!! |

Overpowered bases on 19 are great when they are there to help out the drivers as far as local directions and such, but as far as using it as a home frequency to talk to your neighbor,it isn't right. Might as well be like the guy in the Circle City(I am sure quite a few drivers would know what I am talking about) who is running all the massive watts and covering up all the working hands just to try to get them to abuse him when they are passing through. Nineteen is for mobile and I thought that was understood. Must be one weird closet they are in when all they have to do is hassle the guys that are delivering the supplies that they need to live. Crazy huh. |

Yes Taz, 10 feet does make a difference. What is it they say about that anyway, every 10 feet is 1 more pound on the meter from elsewhere? Not sure if that's true or not cuz I never checked the meter from somewhere, came back, put it up another 10 feet then went back out to see the difference. I'm still wet behind the ears once in a while when it comes to this cb stuff!! Hey, is there anyone from lincoln that comes in here from time to time????????? |

Taz, ya darn right it does. I raised my A-99 from 20' to 30' and my buddy 7 miles down the road told me I came up 3s units, from a 6 to a 9 on his Galaxy 2517. Phybre666, I don't live in Lincoln, but I do live in Eastern Ne. and I do read this board most every day. Great info here. |
