I have been tuning in some Shortwave stations as of late. And I am thinking a transmiter that covers 0-30 Mhz would be great. Allowing me to listen and transmit on 11 meters all in one package. And taking up less space then two radios. I have been told the Yaesu FT-747GX is the ticket. Is it? Or is there something better. I don't mind used, and price is a biggy with me, as we all can relate I am sure. Any feedback will be great. Thanks! |

Kenwood TS-430. 250 wats pep input. mine puts out 145. A TS-440 is good too. There is a resistor inside that you can cut that will give you variable power on SSb so you can cut your output to 30 watts and drive something like a Texas Star or whatever. I have an FT 747 too. It does 45 wattts on 10 and 11 meters but with a big loop antenna -240 ft- thats enough to cover the world. |

So many radios, must are a little to high. But maybe i can work a deal with someone. It'll take time, but I'll have something. At least the BD is coming, maybe I can raise some funds for a new radio! *G* |
