I was just wondering about something. For years the most popular CB radios that I can remember were the Cobra 1000 and 2000 and the PRESIDENT (ie not uniden) Madison and Dwight D. Would'nt it be great if Galaxy or RCI put out a radio of this style designed around the 2517-27 Galaxy or 2900 Ranger series chassis. I personally would box up the old Melaka in favor of a Galaxy based on this design and I'd be willing to bet a lot of people would like to see something like this to. Just thought of this while messing around with Dads old Madison and thought I'd post it just to see what anyone else thought about it. :):):)

By the way the 1000 was simply the AM only version of the 2000.

OK OK Consider it dropped. But on to the bigger picture does anyone else "miss" this style of radio?

I liked them just fine. I'm tired of the "rack mount" look. I also like the look of the Galaxy 2547 and that mid-size Superstar base, kind of like the 2547, that was available for awhile then disappeared.

persoanlly I kind of liked the OLD cobar BASE station designs of years ago... the old 89, 139. 142 bases with the angles display. neatly organized, meters well lit and not all the numbers over on one side of the scale, but those days are long gone ( and the radios too ).. one from RADIO SHACK ( the top of the line model with digital meters and SLIDE controls for KNOB functions was pretty but NOT built to last )

Okay let's go old school for a moment, the Browning R27 S23 was a nice radio, also the Tram Titan. I wish that I still had both of these radios again. Does anyone remember the Cobra 98, nice tube radio!
