Does anyone here run a Night K Eagle? If so, what do you think about it? Is it a good microphone or no? Would you prefer the Night K Eagle over a Silver Eagle D104? I'll be purchasing one very soon :-) Just curious as to how they are working for the rest of you! |

I have both and I use them both on the same radio with no difference in reports in the two. I like the Night K because of the K beep |

Frog, I had the silver eagle at one time and got rid of it like a dummy. Now I own the night K eagle. Same mic except for the ETS tone. No different audio quality. The only reason I would prefer the night over the silver is that it doesn't get smudged up as easy. Just dust it once in a while. I would like to get another silver eagle for display purposes though...Eddie |

Biged, i know what you mean....the Silver Eagle is a real pain to keep clean, but is an excellent mic....wouldn't give it up for a whole box of Turners! LOL dx431 |

I have an OLD 1977 version of the silver eagle and i have noticed the older d 104s all seem to have more audio than the newer ones.(just one of my own personal observations here) I think Astatic changed some values inside the bottom over the years. I have a night eagle d 104 that is about 5 years old that i like to run on my 2990. It looks good ranned on a black radio. Classy! Black and brass on a black radio!! ;-) |

Thank you to those who contributed your opinion about the Night K Eagle! They sure are rare to find these days, so that's why I purchased it & the cool K Beep! Great microphone ...can't wait to get it! |

RCI2990 I agree with you, it also seems to me that the older D104s seem to have more punch than the newer ones. I have an older one and a new one and I like the sound of the older one that I have had for a long time. I also use a Night Eagle on my 2990dx, seems to do well and looks nice with the radio!!! |
