I just purchased a cobra 29 ltd classic on ebay for $40 , not a bad deal but I though it was one that was made in the Philipenes, but it was not. It looked like an old one from the pic, It has the side mic connector on it and all. Does anyone know the exact year that Uniden stopped making the boards for cobra? I want to get and old one to really modify, but I understand that they will fail quicker if you do that to the new ones. The manufacturing date on it is March 1995. Also, does any one know somewhere you can buy new face plates for these, I want to put a new one on to make it look new. Thanks |

Uniden stoped makeing the boards for these radio's in 98 so you should have nothing to worry about, you should be able to modify it without problems, as for the face plates I am not sure but someone here in this forum probly will. |

Thanks barakuda, I thought that the year they stopped making the 2000 gtl was the year Uniden stopped making the boards for them. That was about 1991 or 1992 I think??? |
