Go to www.radiowaveconnection.com or search for radio mods in a search engine, you should find plenty of mods for that radio. |

These are about the only modifications I could find for this radio - Uniden Pro 510XL Radio Modifications: Power Mods - 1.Cut D14 Audio Limiter. 2.Tune L6 and L5 for max swing. If I find anymore resources I'll post them here. Goodluck! :-) |

Mods for the Pro-510:::: Hope this helps, not much you can do with these though. Pro-510 XL, Pro-500D, Pro-520 XL Power Tweek and Modulation There are 2 ways that I found to work. 1) Cut or remove D14 which is the modulation limiter. Re-tune L4, L5, L6, L9 for maximum RF forward output. If the modulation is to much, do it this way: 2) Change the 2.7ohm resister in front of the final bias resister (15 ohm w/RF bead) to a .47 ohm. Re-solder or replace D14. Re-tune L4, L5, L6, L9 for maximum forward RF output. If you damage D14, you can use a 1N914 to replace it. VR1 Squelch VR2 TX Meter VR3 RX Meter VR4 RX IF Gain |

PRO 510XL IT IS A GOOD LITTLE RADIO AND LOUD. ONLY PROBLEM I SEE WITH IT IS THE LACK OF FEATURES AND NOISE SUPRESSION.I USED ONE IN THE LITTLE SHOP BEHIND MY OLD HOUSE AND ON A BASE ANT. IT WORKED REAL GOOD. IT WAS EASY TO PEAK AND I GOT AROUND 18 WATTS OUT OF IT. I USED A COBRA POWER MIKE AS WELL AND MANY THOUGHT I WAS RUNNING POWER. 73'S THE RABBIT |
