I wonder what year Volume 19 was. I was looking thur a filing cabinet for my Maco schematics, and found some old copies of the Copper catalog, the oldest I saw was a 19. The "new" RCI 2900 was advertised, along with the new Uniden HR 2600 for 299.99. The Uniden 2510 was on sale, 219.99. Cobra 2000 was on sale also, 349.99, and you could get an extra speaker for 29.99. And, Josh Steele had his 'magic instructions from the land of Acimera', for putting extra channels in a Cobra 29. It must be from the late 1980s. |

I used to have a catalog from sometime in either 1990 or 1991 that had the 2000, the 142GTL and the AR ranger 3500 for sale... That was the oldest one i had! |

I don't know if Josh Steele is still at Coppers or not. I use to keep all the copies were he gave those "magic instructions from the land of Acimera". lol, lots of good information, I think I still have the one where he gave information on the 2950 when it first came out. |

Id like to find an older copy from the mid to late 1980s or early 1990s just to have as a reference guide of sorts. |

The oldest issue I have is when they announce that Turner is about to stop making mics. cover torn off so I'm not sure what the volume and issue # is. |

Hmm well Turner stopped producing CB desk mikes in late 1979 or so.. Telex still made some of them into the early 1980s though. |

yes they did!!!! The plus 2, plus 3, SSK, plus 3 and plus 2 handmikes and the exspander 400 and 500 are all great talking mikes!! I have them all and most of them are all well over 20 years old and talking strong! I have a plus 3 handmike and a roadking handmike both NEW IN THE BOX never used! Nothing today (well, almost nothing) is as good in the quality as the old tuners and astatics of 20 to 30 years ago! The stuf they sell in the truckstops today like the superstar mikes are junk from the minute you take them out of the package. its sad that most anything out there today is junk compared to what was available back in the day..... Ah well! I doesnt do me any good to complain because the radio equipment manufacturers these days ONLY care about one thing...... $$$$$ |
