HELLO - I am going to set up a new base and I wanted to know the best way to set up the grounding system. Can I use the same 8' ground for the antenna, radio, and amp? Or should I get 3 rods? Also, someone told me that using the center of Coax makes a good feed line. I am going to use lmr-400 ultraflex and will have some extra RG-213 to use for the ground.
THANKS FOR ANY INFO...

1 rod is fine for the radio and amp. But since your antenna is probly more than 8 feet from your radio. the reason i said 8 feet is because there cant be any ground wires over 8 feet or it will radiate. so 1 for your radio and amp then run the radio and amp to a bus bar then to the ground rod. I dont know where you are at and how your ground is but run at least one ground rod for the antenna. I ran 2 of the 8 footers for my antenna and in the concrete foundation for my tower I ran about 8 of the 4 footers.

A common grounding point is acceptable. But whatever grouning you use/one or three/use large wire or braid to connect the equipment to the ground rod(s). Of course be reasonable with the size of the wire used.
