Hey,ok from asking 307 and 181 about a problem with one of my radios I think I've fried the PLL chip. There are 3 chips in this radio. The thing I'm wondering is which chip is it??There's one chip and it's the biggest one in the radio, thats screwed to the chassis. Is this the PLL chip or is it another chip? The chip on the chassis is the closest one to the finals. Thanks |

ncrebel, you didn't say what radio, or what is going on. info like this will be helpful in future posts. no pll is mounted to the chassis. so that one is probably an audio ic. the pll will usually have a 10.240xtal near it. it will also -usually- be near the ch selector. what is going on in the radio that sounds like the pll is gone (i must have missed this one - if it was posted here)?? btw, i'm also an "ncrebel". i live right below ft.dragg and was stationed at camp lagoon for 4yrs. |

The radio I have that I fried was a Uniden PC68-XL.It has no transmit or recieve.I asked 307 about it and he seems to think it's the PLL chip. Sorry for not giving enough details at first. |
