..is why do a lot of CB shops seem to heat each other so bad? ive noticed that its rare for 2 CB shops to say anything good about each other. A lot of them act like they hate each other with a passion... |

Pretty much pettiness, I have seen it for a long time myself and never really saw the point. It is like they can`t figure out to work together and make everyone happy. But I guess that is why they call it Free Enterprise. |

Usually BOTH are living in fantasy land and want to soak all for whatever they can. Not saying ALL CB shops are like that , I live near a guy I started into his own CB shop. After teaching him all I could , his shop took off..He bashes ME all the time and I do not even talk on the radio...The Truth is , There are only a handfull who know radios...Steelrods CB shop in Lafayette Indiana is a great one. We talk on the phone quite a bit and I help him as I can. He never bashed me once...As a matter of fact , his wife and himself spent vacation here with my family in Florida.. 307

We have two shops here in this great big collage town. My shop,& one across town. The tech and myself have been good friends for about 20 years. I believe that is the way it should be. However! customers will bash you in a heartbeat!! They will bring a radio or amp in,and swear they have NEVER had the cover off. But if you only repair the problem they complained about, instead of REFURBING their equipment, they will take the equipment across town and say you wiped it out.!! And vice-versa. The good part of being friends with the other tech is we are able to call each other ant find out the truth. When this does happen, the price DOES go up. But we do have a truckstop tech down the road [about 300 miles] that will take a factory final, paint it gold, and sell it to customers for 50.dollars, and install it for 20.-25. dollars, turn the carrier down to achieve good forward swing and steal their money.!!! This is only one of the many tricks he has done. Some [tech's] need to be talked about.!!! It must work, though, he has a good sized shop and three or four employiees [sic] The drivers come through here talkind about the great job they had done at his place, and how quick he is. Their radios sound like hell, but they sure do brag about him. I just could'nt treat people that way, I like my repeat business. OK I'm off the 'box' now. Catch ya'll later bullshipper 537 TEX. |

Something I have seen, that pertains to many repair facilities is that if the tech [so called] isn't sure of themselves it is a lot easier to blame someone else than admit their inability. I know of a situation where the owner of the shop, [not a tech ] closed the shop up because the customer wanted to talk to the tech and not stand around all day BSing. The location was good and the tech's work was top shelf. The tech was asked to leave and started up at another location. When the old owner found this out he started bad mouthing him. You know word of mouth preceeds all other advertising. Iron Mask |
