Kentucky & Mississippi or there abouts: I know that this is a little different from what we talk about on this forum, but thought it may be of some intrest to some of ya'll down south. Just watched a movie called "O BROTHER, where art thou". From what I understand this movie has been out for about 8 months. If you enjoy true "Blue Grass music" this is a must-see movie. I do not watch much T.V. and a lot less movies; that is my wife's thing. However, she hit the nail on the head with this one. From 8 to 80, if you don't dance now, you will while watching this movie. "I am a man of constant sorrow". If this does not make you want to dance, you may be dead. Check it out and let me know if I am wrong or not. Ya'll take care. Bill (Maverick) |

Great movie, great soundtrack. Alison Krauss and Union Staion are one of the groups that are on the soundtrack, which won a Grammy, giving Alison Krauss a career total of 14 Grammys!!! She is from my hometown here, Champaign, IL. Check her out sometime, even if you don't know much bluegrass--really beautiful, textured, virtuoso, I run out of superlatives. |

Hey Bill, Awesome movie. I play in a local bluegrass band, and this movie has helped our kind of music grow very popular lately. We usually play "Man Of Constant Sorrow" in our set, and people go nuts. Seems like they never get tired of that song. Steve |

Well folks, I love the new rock, I won't deny. "Oh brother, where art though" is my favorite movie. Those sirens (Allison Krauss, Emmilou Harris & Co. singing) in the movie must have "loved me up and turned me into a toad" but I love that movie! Take Care, Znut |

Funny thing. That song was originally written by Bob Dylan. It is a good song. This Yankee dislikes country music (for the most part) and I even downloaded the MP3. Steve Tech181 Tech181@copperelectronics.com |

Right now im listening to some OLD, OLD, Black Sabbath from the early 1970s back when Ozzy Ozborn was the lead vocal. LOL. But i agree, there is something for everyone.. I once dated a chick that only liked country and we were always making fun of each others music. |

Hey guys: RCI2990 has a good comment. I like Pink Floyd, even paid good money to see them in concert here in Austin Tx. Like he says, to each his own. However don't lambast the few of us that really appreciate good old "Blue Grass". I came up in the 60's, so that should tell you about the music I enjoy. It's tough being an old man. MrHappy: We will not even go into hard rock, or more correctley "Heavy Metal" "Metallica" and so on. "ZZ Top" and "Black Crows" are some of my favorites. We will not even go into the subject of how many of our youth today listen to the lyrics that are blamed for the suicide's amoung the kids of today. Talk about depressing. However, they were probably thinking about it before. "60 Minutes" July 1999. My wife does not share my opnion. GreenHornet: Hang in there. You obviously play to this crowd, and if you are playing music, you have played all the music, 60's--70's--80's. Just play what you are confortable with. Highlander: Alison Krauss, Union Station. It is not her fault that she was born a yankee. Hey, it is just a joke. Alison Krauss is a very fine vocalist. I love her music. Tech 181: I will not say a word to you, I will need your help some day on radio advice(LOL). Well, I guess I have done enough damage today. To All: Sorry for ruffling the feathers up. My wife tells me that I have a bad habit of voicing my opnion. Sorry guys. I apologize to everyone that I have offended. That is the beauty of this forum, to say what is on your mind. THANK YOU COPPER FORUM. Bill (Maverick) |
