Hey guys, wonder if some of you could help me out? I'd like to know how the President Lincoln with the Chipswitch compares to the RCI2950DX. I'm not interested in the old 2950, just the new DX model. I haven't been back into radio (in these days of export radios) long enough to really have much knowledge of them, but I'm reading up on the 2950dx and like a lot of the features, such as "scan" and 100hz to 1MHz steps. I'm impressed with what you all say about the quality of both radios. And from what I've read on this board, nothing compares to the recieve of a Lincoln.

I'm leaning towards a Lincoln (again, if I can get one) with the chpswtch.

Once you have the chpswtch done, how do the featueres compare to the 2950dx?

Also, concerning the features that are gained by the chpswtch. Does the use of the features work natrually with the controls the radio already has? What I mean is this. Once you have the CS done, are the features accessed in a "bastardized" way? For example, I have a DX959 that uses the PA button as a 10kHz switch. The button (PA) doesn't actually have anything to do with 10kHz shifting as shown on the face of the radio. If I put big money into the Lincoln, I don't want it to have functions that are not matching the knobs, buttons etc.

If you have the chipswitch, how do you access the features it gives?

Thanks to any and all of you fine gentlemen who care to help me out on this. I'm just an ignorant ole ratchet jaw!:)

Thanks, fellers!

Barefoot,
I know the Lincoln is short in features compared to the 2950dx unless you have the chpswtch. So, if you get one with the chip, is it much of a hassle to use, and remember how to access, the features? If you have a 2950dx, how do you think they compare?
