I was wondering if any company still make these 10/12 meter SSB walkie talkies??? I wish I had bought one years ago but I did not . Now I find I have a need for one. If they still make them I like to know so I can get a brand new one. Magnum use to make a 10/12 and so did Albrecht . I know there are used ones on the market but I like them new from the factory. |

The Albrecht AE-2990AFS is still available over here in the UK. It comes locked on CB frequencies but is easily converted for use on Ham bands. Not sure if it is available in the US or not. Over here we have AM/FM/SSB legal on CB now and as it is primarily marketed as a CB HT then probably against FCC legislation to market in the US. Not sure how your customs are on importing a CB with FM on it. Tech858/Jim MM0TXO Wavin' a hand from Scotland

TECH 838, I think if I remember correctly that when they did sell them here they were classified as 10/12 meter radio's in order to sell them. Of course there was an 11 meter modification that could be done to them. |
