I do a lot of traveling with a group who switched from CB radios to MURS using some surplussed former forest service VHF portable radios. They work excellent when the group gets split up, like when traveling through towns or traffic. We get a few miles range most of the time, which is plenty for our needs. We run carrier squelch (no PL) and almost never hear anything else on the radios outside our group. Your radio 'Mythbuster' since 1998

Here activity here. IN fact embarrassed a Drive=-thru worker who was making funny comments about a car in front of me. I turned the volume up so she could hear that I was hearing everything they said. Tech237 N7AUS God made me an athiest, who are you to question his wisdom?
