I have to go Monday to see if the stomach surgery failed. What happen is my stomach valve failed. This keeps acid reflux from getting into your throat and eating your throat up. They got me in time and that is good. However I have a long way to go. At least two more surgery to go. Thank you all for asking and for your prayers. |

What made this surgery so bad is at the top of the stomach they took part of the stomach wrap the stomach where the food comes in at around it to make the valve. However , the doctor sowed ne so tight ( made the opening where the food comes in ) so small that I can hardly swallow food. I have been throwing up bad most of the time. Lost 24 pound in 7 week's and I have been very weak. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR PRAYERS. |

You might want to consider it my friend. A TYT MD 380 DMR handheld cost $99.99 If You have a DMR repeater close to you or as you travel you can talk world wide with 2 to 5 watts. No outdoor antenna required. I sit inside my home and use my DMR handheld and I am about 15 miles away from the repeater. You can get the full TYT MD 380 DMR STARTER KIT That includes a carrying case a battery eliminator and a antenna adapter for mobile or base for about $160.00 That is shipping and all. You can get this in a 2 meter or a 70cm version. |

Praise God and thank everyone for the prayers. My surgery is ok But I still have to have my stomach expanded where doctor sewed me to tight. That way I can eat again without throwing up. |

Charlie Brown, I'm glad that the surgery went well. I have the TYT MD-380 UHF DMR radio. I also have the CS800 DMR radio. The DMR system is a Great format on UHF. The VHF 2 Meter repeaters almost don't exist. And yes for about $100(I've seen them as low as $75). The TYT MD-380 is taking over the world. Maybe we can start a Copper DMR net? Now if I can just learn how to make code plugs I won't have to depend on someone else. Izzy CEF#502

Hello Milkman, 70 cm is what I use and a net would be great. It would be very nice if Copper would start selling more ham product's. Connect system is suppose to have a dual band mobile that is DMR and ANALOG that will do 65 watt's. I am looking forward to that radio. Might be for sale at the Ohio ham fest coming up. On the code plugs I had friends to send me their code plugs. I used them and studied them till I was able to do mine. I let the plugs overwhelm me until I took the attitude that if I mess up I can always do another. Took a while but if I can do it anyone can. For now I have my tech ticket but I plan on getting my general late fall. Let us know when you set up the net. Thanks for the prayer's. |

Thank you 0167, I pray every single day for those I know and don't know. We all can use a prayer. 0167 do you do ham? Been a while since I have done 11 meter. My antenna is far, far, away on top of the hill is broke down. Probably will be late fall before I am able to get back on the mountain to fix it. I use to go by double nickel on 11 meter. There are a few that are using that handle but they cuss and talk badly. I do not.. 27.385 lower side band is where I use to be. For now I do 2 meter and 70 cm ham and DMR. I hope late fall to upgrade my ham license to the general If you are not a ham yet I invite you to make your ham license and enjoy much more in our radio hobby. Once again Thank you for your best wishes and prayer and I look forward to talking with you on the radio. ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO MAKE NEW CONTACT'S AND FRIEND'S. This is what I always would say at the end of my communication on the radio. HAVE A BLESSED DAY TO ALL |

Good Morning Revpo, There are a lot of different model's and a few manufacture's of the DMR radio's. I have the TYT MD 380 DMR handheld. Later I plan on getting a mobile DMR. Connect System is very well also. CS I like the MD 380 because they have done a lot with the firmware which give's the ham operator many menu option'. Of course you have to learn how to program a codeplug for these radio's and it is done by software on a computer. The MD 380 DMR for about $100.00 come with the program cable and the software. I bought two of the MD 380 DMR I use them as much if not more than my analog radio's. As long as you can hit the repeater that has DMR you can talk around the world on 1 to 5 watts. Yes Recpo it would be nice if we could get a net going on here. DMR is spreading faster and more than D-STAR, FUSION AND other digital communication... Check and see if in your area if you have a repeater that has DMR. You will find that 70 cm DMR is the most popular. They are coming out with a dual band analog DMR for 2 meter and 70 cm for both mobile and handheld. The best thing about DMR is you don't have to wait for skip condition's. DMR is set up through the repeater and goes through the internet to other DMR REPEATER'S . Connected World wide. You do not have to have your radio connected to your computer. It use is through the repeater I hope I have help all those interested with this little bit of information. If I can be of any help just ask and I will try to answer any question's. JUST THINK WE CAN TALK WITH DMR AND NOT DEPEND ON SKIP WITH EACH OTHER. We call each other on the NORTH AMERICIA THEN GO TO TAC 310 OR TAC 311. |

In case I did not mention it. I like DMR because I can set in my home with no outdoor antenna. Connect the radio to power supply. Talk all day. I am talking about a TYT MD 380 DMR HANDHELD . |

Charlie Brown is speaking real truth. Crystal clear audio. And you can control where you speak to. You really need the UHF radio. About 99% of DMR is done on UHF (440Mhz) and not the VHF (2 Meter). The Radio can also do analog. TYT MD380 can be purchased for less than $100 shipped. Izzy CEF#502

I do not know of any other way but as to the first question on this topic about people still being alive on this forum I don't know other than the possibility of people having health problems lost interest or died. Of course could also be people have lost interest in the hobby now. As for me I still visit this site often seeing if I can help anyone and of course ask question's for myself that I don't know about. Like TECH 237 HAD POSTED ABOVE he has his problems to. But to all other's that have not posted anything for awhile please post a DOING FINE if your still visiting this forum or let us know if your not doing to well. I miss hearing from everyone on here. Here is my update in case anyone had missed my older post. I have my ham tech ticket but I still do 11 meters ( CB) and I like listening to short wave a lot last but not least I listen to my scanner's My CEF number is 1073. Later I will update my personal information to show my ham license number. Come on you all Lets hear from you all. I consider all you my friends. This is the best forum you can be on. GREAT TECHS AND GREAT PEOPLE. TO EVERYONE HAVE A BLESSED DAY. LOOKING FORWARD TO READING POST FROM YOU ALL |

Hello Guys, well I'm still around and kicking a little. I check the forum pretty often but not much going on with it anymore. The CB band is really about dead around where I live. Lightning got my Imax 2000 a while back, I've got a new one but haven't got around to putting it up yet. Gotta get that done one of these days. ;) CEF 108 |
