Has anybody seen one of these boxes before? I can't seem to find any info on them on the web. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Hy Russell, I found some info on some amps by Westcom that are smaller but have the same quality or lack there of. What I found was apparently these amps were sold by a Southern California company and weren't equipped with very good filtering but worked and were priced right. Much like other amps built in the late 70s. Just the words Trucker Special are a hint to craftsmanship. One of the newer amps from Texas Star would offer far better quality. 73 Pressman

Thanks Press man. This box performs remarkably well. It actually out swings my TS 500. I checked on two different meters and I am quite surprised. Maybe I found a diamond that looks rough! |

May be set up class C and not AB like your TS 500. I'd run a good filter between the radio and amp. Try to keep your neighborhood friendly and not writing letters to FCC. 73 Pressman

So far no distortion or RF on any of my TV's and everyone close to me has satellite for service like me. I do still switch out to the TS 500 regularly. So far, so good. |
