The famous Browning "ping" is actually caused by brief feedback from the receiver speaker into the transmitter's microphone as the transmitter is keyed. The "ping" can be changed by either moving the mic closer to the receiver speaker, or to a "scream" by using a larger capacitor in the relay keying delay circuit. I do not recommend it. Which capacitor did you change? I believe your target is capacitor C66, but not positive. Be advised... You may cause damage to the T/R relay (no longer available) as well the the receiver audio circuitry. The Browning "ping" was just a happy accident as the receiver audio would not shut down quickly when switching from receive to transmit, and the "ping" was actually audio feedback from the receiver speaker back into the microphone. Changing C66 causes the receiver audio to shut off even more slowly and gradually, causing the "ping" (feedback) to last longer. It's also very hard on audio circuits.
