First what I have is,
1)Cobra 2010 base.
2)Dosey 3001 new meter.
3)pyramid 25 amp supply.
4)Hooker 100 bilinear mobile amp.
5)D104 power desk mic.
I know little of amp.The Cobra has been fully modded.
I use to have a D&A on it dead key 40 swing 300 no issues.
As to the Hooker amp I gather this-pills to be in it are MRF-454 or 455.Pills NOW in it-PT9803 7630v.I gather the two pills are 75 watt each.So Google says upon research.
Amp is ssb pre and rms pep switches.Heres where I need help below......
I dead key radio to 3 watt amp dead keys 28 swings in pep mode on amp 300 watt.Now my radio is set up for audio swings 40 45 or so bare.
Amp in rms mode radio 3 watt key amp is 100 watt swings 275 or so.
Reports say Im loud clean.My concern is am I over doing amp on pep or is that great? That is 3 watt radio 28 amp swing 300???
The amp heats up not alot really.
I am baffled how can a 100 watt box swing 300.Any help and research time very much greatful for.I find little info on this Hooker box but it does work.
Just want to find out what my radio dead key should be and long as it is that whatever pep I see the amp is ok...My Dosey moreless is a pep read meter.So before I run amp Ill await info hetein. |

Hooker 100 is also known as Bimbo 100
Does anyone have more info on these amps?
Does the pep/rms switch change it from a modulator(pep) to Amp (rms)?
Are all of these low drive or does that depend on there finals?
