CHEROKEE made a 40 channel ssb handheld that had combo frequency counter / channel readout...only have SEEN one ( man would NOT sell it )...this was about 2 months ago so they MAY still be available via special order ???

I have been searching for over a week now, no luck! As far as I know, there are four of them out there, the Titan RPSY 201, Cherokee AH 100, Eagle spitfire 454 and Magnum SSB 1010, they are all the same thing just different names. I called a place here in California where a buddy of mine got a Titan a few months ago and they said they can't get them and everyone wants them. Copper used to sell the Eagle but they say there is some political red tape with trying to hash out a deal on ordering a batch. This is ridiculious! There is an obvious demand for them, why can't at least one company out there provide the product!? Any ideas? Government ban because of 9-11!?! Oil and Automotive industry wants to keep us in our trucks on mobile rigs!?! Wives and girlfriends, beer/coffee companys want to keep us at home on base units?!?! Come on, lets hear ideas no matter how far fetched! Maybe we'll get to the bottom of this and get some units shipped. Hey Copper, if you can't play nicely in the sandbox,or maybe it's them, at least let us know who manufacters the rig and I'll pound on their door!!

the reason is simple if this eagle was 40 ch only it would have no problem but because it can be moded the fcc is hassling tring to limit these types of radios the FCC is not amused at the " 10 meter" radio stuff .... o unmoded the 454 is leagual for ham use ..... even if gary is unhappy with them.
