Harve, this was my first post in many years here my friend. Good to see you back as well. I see quite a few people like Scrapiron and such I have missed. Izzy, what is Bruce's status? I am concerned for his eyesight, and son. I do not wish to take this thread "off key", but this thread is about "where are they?" so figured I would jump in.. Wanting to hear some more old Copper contacts as well as the new. Karate Butcher? It's nice to be back. |

Bruce said to tell everyone, "Hi and thanks for the concern !" He did have eye surgery, a Vitrectomy (look it up on Wikipedia) on the left eye to drain off blood, it also has a cateract in it and he's had retina trouble in the past, so he's blind in that eye unless they get the cateract out. He also has a cateract on his right eye. Many diabetics have eye trouble. His son is in assisted living and doing well. Pressman/KC4ZWM

Scrapiron63, I did live in Washington from 2003-2006, then moved to Florida 2006-2009. I retired after 26 years with the US Navy in 2009 and returned home to where I have set my roots for good, Austin Texas. You still out there shooting skip? |

Alsword, a fellow Texan! I just setteled south of Dallas after a lengthy stent overseas. Was off the air for 8 years. I was searching old posts, found my final post before I deployed out in 2004 and I never realized how many folks here wished me well. I do appreciate it and made it back in one piece. Yes starting to see some familiar faces again! |

Alsworld, welcome back. Thank You for serving our country. Now that I know you are in Austin, how about running down to Rudy's Country Store and BBQ and send me one of those great Rudy's BBQ Beef Briskets?? Hint, hint, hint. Hey everyone, should I have made it a little more direct or did I do good to just drop the hint? Keith in Atlanta CEF 150 |

Alsworld, good to see you got all those years in safely and retired now. I still do a little skip, and some local talking although most of my old radio friends have quit or died out. That's what happens when you're older than dirt. lol |

do you guys remember 2 of the 1st techs here on the forum.tech 307 and tech 181? never did hear why they left.they even cancelled their handles from the forum.I know 307 was here when I joined in nov. 2001. I think 181 was here also if not shortly after. I talked to 307 in fall of 2007 and he was in florida working as a radio tech for some company of some sort. |

Hey Keith! Yeah I took my son to Rudy's about a month ago and it sure was good. I like the "moist" brisket but they have a few types. Jalepeno sausage was excellent. I just bought some Salt Lick BBQ sauce (the Salt Lick is a famous Texas BBQ restaurant from around here) to send with my wife as she is heading out tomorrow driving for Oklahoma to take to her sisters new home. Sure is nice to see so many of you that I remember from back then! 392, Allagator, Scrapiron63, Sonoma, Harve, Triplecguy, Mike, etc. (my memory stopped on who all was responding so if i missed your handle please know it was not meant as a personal diss). Awesome! And yeah Sonoma I remember them both. Steve was 181 and (Bill?) 307, the main Copper tech as things got rolling with this forum. I guess things must change over time but I sure did learn from those guys as I hope new people are learning from the current Techs. Really nice to see so many familiar 'handles' showing up on this thread. |
