bought it used, naturally. This NOT a name or number on this antenna anywhere. I Can Not find any info on this on the internet. Nothing I can find looks like it. I was told it is a CB Antenna (27 megaHtz) I am very new to CB's although I am 62 yrs old. If you can help me ID this I sure would apprecite your help with your knowledge and experience. The radials are 4'4" Mast overall from coax connection up is 17'6". The SWR match in terrible-above 5! I hope you can help me here. I can hear VERY GOOD with it, almost NO static either. I am afraid to try and transmit with such a terrible SWR Match. My Sincere Thanks In Advance To All. Jim.

looks like an old hygain CLR2, can easily be burned out with 500 watts. Good antenna, hears great, just no watts! From about 1975 |

17,6 seems a little short for cb. what are ya using to check swr. if u using a anylizer go thru the cb band into 10 meter 28 mega and see if it dips there. if sio its tuned for that band. if theres no dip anywhere then id think its a faulty antenna or maybe bad coax not sure on the bad coax though dale/a.k.a.hotrod cef426 cvc#64

Applevalley Jim, you have a great view outside there my friend. These guys are shooting you right. I had two, still have one brand new in the box, Antenna Specialists super mag base station antennas. If memory serves me correct, it should be 18'. I have a feeling the post above covers that it has been shortened for ham bands. Keith in Atlanta CEF 150 |
