Guys, been out for a while and just wanted to touch base and get an idea of what radios are the most popular for 10, now that it has opened up. It seemed before that you were not cool for using anything other than a Icom, Yaesu or Kenwood. I have a connex, a galaxy and a ranger. Are these being used/accepted more these days on 10 or 12? It seems like a lot of the hams dispise these units. I think they are pretty cool! Thanks, 392/CEF0213 also a ham! |

Thanks 237.... Wow, has it really died down here or what! I was activd here until 2004 when I left to work overseas. I recently returned and it doesn't seem like there is near as much conversation. I hear very few locals on 11 meters here in north texas. I am not yet back on the air with my VHF. Not hearing too much on 10 meters either. So is radio dying out? I would have expected more than one person to chime in on 10 meter radio advise needed. How are the CEF nets, is there much activity? thanks, 392 CEF0213 |

I think it will slowly pick up with the new cycle. 10 has had a few amazing days recently after the years of dormancy. |

I am leaning towards the 2950DX aas well. Seems like a winner. Now I read that using radios like the Connex 4800 or a Galaxy, is actually illegal on 10?? Can anyone educate me on this? Thanks all, 392/CEF0213 |

Uniden HR 2510, Icom 718! The Icom is an amazing radio, and it covers 10 through 80 Meters, so you will be all set if you get your Ham ticket! 100 Watts out of the box, with a built in digital signal processor. |

Hi guys! I just got back into radio after a 10 year break. I have a 10 meter capable radio but cant seem to find anyone selling base antennas. The only fella selling equipment in my area is a ham snob and told me to take my money down the road. I can ship it in if necessary. sorry if this is not the right area. PS. my radio is a pres jackson silver face. 73 |

arrl.org you can also find a local ham radio club in your area perhaps, and they can and usually will help you out with testing. I have found the local clubs to be very helpful and open to new folks. Hope this helps, 392 |
