Just letting everyone know that 10 meters is on fire this morning. All over Europe from Ireland to Russia booming in to CONUS. Sure, there is a contest but these are the best conditions Ive seen in years. Get some. |

For those who have radios that are capable of receiving the bottom end of the 10m ham band, if you tune in 28.200 MHz. in CW mode (or 28.201 MHz. in LSB mode) and listen, you will hear beacons from all over the world with the conditions the way they are right now. They are part of the IARU world-wide beacon network. They each take a turn and transmit their ID then 4 short bursts at 100 watts, then 10 watts, then 1 watt then 100 mW. Here's the lineup (from the website): NCDXF/IARU International Beacon Network 4U1UN UNITED NATIONS NYC VE8AT NUNAVUT, CANADA W6WX SAN JOSE, CA KH6WO LAIE,OAHU HI ZL6B MASTERTON, NEW ZEALAND VK6RBP ROLYSTONE, AUSTRALIA JA2IGY MT ASAMA, JAPAN RR9O NOVOSIBIRSK, RUSSIA VR2B HONG KONG, CHINA 4S7B COLOMBO,SRI LANKA ZS6DN PRETORIA, S.AFRICA 5Z4B KIAMBU KENYA, AFRICA 4X6TU TEL AVIV , ISRAEL OH2B KARKKILA, FINLAND CS3B MADEIRA ISLAND LU4AA BUENOS AIRES,ARGENTINA OA4B LIMA,PERU YV5B CARACAS,VENEZUELA It's fascinating how many parts of the world can be heard right now. 10/11m is alive!
