Jim many of us tried to suggest that ch13 LSB would not work for Copper. And many other thoughts from the members were dismissed CEF 252 Northern California Steve |

Back when there were only 23 channels ch 16 was reserved for SSB and the rest were AM. When we moved to forty channels 34 to 40 were added by gentleman's agreement for SSB use. If the arrangement still holds true I doubt if you will find much if any action on 13LSB Dyslexics of the world UNTIE! 73 De Bubba Honorary O.F.

So if 13LSB ain't gonna work should we perhaps have a channel higher up for the ssb and keep 13 for am use ? It would be nice to manage to make contact with some of the Copper Forum members over there , will have to mail the forummaster on this one as would be a shame to miss out on this good chance to talk with you guys over there . Any one else got any thoughts on this one ? Tech858/Jim CEF#0858 ~ CEF HAM#0230 CVC#0116 ~ MM0TXO

It don't really matter to me as I don't use 11 meter anymore, I have to many Jerks locals to even bother with 11 meter anymore. Now on the other hand 10 meter has been opening here very well lately and I been trying on 28.360 everyday to catch a CEF in the net. |

Like someone else said, channel 13 was a terrible choice from the start. It was picked because it was the standby channel for some of the people on the forum at that time. We had some success with it back at first. However we caught a lot of flak from people across the country for using sideband on what is considered an AM channel. There was a lot of channel jamming with noise makers and etc. I think we should use a channel up around 34-37. Channel 38 is used by too many others. Just my thoughts. Scrapiron CEF 108 |

237< do you have attic space? a loop supported at four corners would be less than 9 feet per side.Snake the coax through an attic vent and through a window?...... Dyslexics of the world UNTIE! 73 De Bubba Honorary O.F.

FUn time and Revo - I am waiting until I have one of install tech from work in the house, who is coming to run some more coax lines for cable, and I am going to have drop 2 runs of RG-8x down the wall at the same time. ThenI'll run a dip[ole on 2m, and a longwire with auto-tuner on HF. I just refuse to wallfish the coax. Tech237 N7AUS God only made some many perfect head, on the rest he put hair.

Acually a funny story about wallfishing cable. Some years back my fahter needed to replace the coax on his tv antenna and it required a wallfish. Not having the proper snake, he used a srping steel tape measure, which worked great, until he tried to retrieve the tape and realized he had fed it down the wall the wrong way round. Yes, the little hook was now caught on the noggin. After 30 truitless minutes he cuit teh tape. Now I do have to admit, he does have the best off-air reception of anyone in that valley, and I am not sure that that is as much to do with teh coil of tape in the wall, as too the amount of time I put in to setting up the antenna. 237< If you have enough height (5 ft)in your attic a J-pole for 2 meters would probably work a lot better than a Dipole. They are pretty easy to build, and are pretty hard to mess up. Dyslexics of the world UNTIE! 73 De Bubba Honorary O.F.
