Was looking at some of the new radios.also on a budget. Best bang for the buck. Was lookin at am/ssb/a little extra power. also for 10 meter must be verry stable. was looking at the Magnum 257HP the reviews are great. What kind of watts will this radio do Says 80pep but 1-12 am 65-70ssb.I also like the mic features etc. Are there any other radios in this price range to look at.Thank you for Your help |

Hey thanks for the replys..The 257HP sounds like a true winner, has anybody tried the echo mic made for the radio???? I have a 2950dx and I do love it but wish it had a little more power for local 10 meters and a little more punch. great radio....Was planing on the 257HP for mobil without the need for an amp...Thanks again... |

ill warn you the 257 is not so good as a mobile radio.its very very noisy. i use mine as a base. it works fine. but i would not suggest it as a mobile what don't kill you makes you stronger

Had a Ranger RCI Super Star 158 EDX awsome radio right on frequency never had to tune or adjust the clarrifier to talk to icom and kenwood users. Was verified by a friend using a computer radio program to be closer than the magnums which are also a good steady reliable non drifting radio. |
