"a sign on the mom and pop gas stations {read}eat here and get gas " - there is a official sign on one exit into Baker City that still says that, the funny is just below it is another one that says "Hospital" Tech237 N7AUS God only made some many perfect head, on the rest he put hair.

25 cents got you into the walk-in theater. 10 cents for a soda 15 cents for popcorn 10 cents for candy you saw a movie and two cartoons Dad used to complain about 25 cent premium gas We drank our milk from quart jars left on the front step of the house. Our family car had a flat head 6 cylinder engine with a three speed colume shifter that got 20 mpg. We washed out and reused cloth diapers. We returned soda bottles which were washed and reused. We shoveled livestock poop to use in our gardens and we didn't have gym memberships, folks just worked hard. My grandpa lived past his 104th birthday. He drank a cup of corn mash every night and never had more than a mild cold till he retired at a young age of 90, he then got a hernia lifting 100 pounds of taters. Here comes a good pun--------we didn't have the green thing back then either. Wally/Pressman/KC4ZWM

In 1965 you could buy a new Ford Galaxie for $200 down and 36 payments of $96.00 FOR A TOTAL OF $3600. Now that will get you a lease on some new cars, which you will NEVER own. |
