Just when I thought I had things going my way something else happens. Getting ready for my new base and I broke my old reliable Dosy meter. I guess I'm in the market for a new one of these to now. I like the looks of the Astatic 600 and the Dosy TC3001(backlit 3 face meters) if any one has any other suggestions or opinions on these two feel free, but I kinda like the threeface set-up. I know I ask a lot of questions but when I get my set up done I'll try to answer as many as I can for the next people that come along!!!!!!!

Bullesye,

I own an older PDC600LP, the three meter job. Gave me many years of reliable service, decently accurate. I still use it from time to time.

Tech181 Wanna sell it? If not what is your opinion on Dosy's TC 3001 And does it have backlit meters?

Bullseye,

Not for sale sorry. The TFC3001 is a great meter, includes the 3 meters (which are the same as the PDC 600) AND the freq counter. Price here is a good one too!

Just wondering which meter will work best with a KLV 1000 P I got a good deal on one I could'nt say no to. Now I would like to know which will handle about 1200 watts or so swing on SSB. I was leaning toward the TFC3001 or the Astatic 600 any preferences or opinions.

OK Taz,or anyone else, I am going to order the Astatic 600. Does anyone have the approximate dimensions LxWxH as I am building a rack of sorts for my rig and need to make a shelf for the meter.

Thanks guys I wanted the Dosy but the swing on SSB will be high (about 12-1400) it may not hurt it but better safe than sorry.

This is a really dumb question but;Would the Astatic 700 be any better or worse and would it be any easier to see the graduated scales in? Having been born with bad eyesight and it getting incrementally worse as time marches on things like this become more of an issue for me. I was just looking at both meters on the website when it occured to me this could be a factor for this purchase.
