this is bugging me.the vr-9000 converts like a superstar 3900hp and clarifier mod to.so which radio is it really like galaxy 88 or 3900. |

jyd:The internals look just like my eagle 2000 minus the power supply.Which ,I believe,is the same as the galaxy saturn and the rci 2980. |

Forummaster if you go to your products page and click on the vr9000 specs page it states at the bottom of the specs SAME BOARD AS GALLAXY 88.this may save a day or 2.someone must have already done this since it is posted as such. |

forumaster,thanks.its not the same or it would convert the same and other things, if it was the same sonoma, it would convert the same that is the whole point.bigbob you said exuse me on the post,what are you talking about? |

JYD you are missing the point it has the same board as the 88 and parts but it is 2 bands shy of the 88 and does not have mic gain and rf gain.this radio is like others that are built to be about the same .it has the 3600 board and lots of others use the same board.the 88 has a channel board in it that you have to hook up the connector to to get the extra channels and the 9000 does not so it had to be designed to mod diff. since it is a generic .its like the magnum 257 has radios copied off it such as the titen and blackhawk. by the way what 3900 do you have?DOES IT HAVE A FREQ COUNTER?it may be just about the same as a galaxy also and if you look on the plls and freq counter you will probly see the word ranger stamped on them.if you go to the galaxy sight you will look in the tech notes it shows the mod to put a freq counter on the 3900 radio that did not come with a freq counter galaxy does not show any other radios to mod like this so it makes a person think that it may go down the same assembly line .HAVE A GOOD DAY JYD.SONOMA |

here we go again,it is the 3900hp and no i dont have one,the voyage converts exactly the same as 3900hp,same spot,someone else told me about this.superstar even has a radio out just like the vr-9000.tune up specs and everything if the 88 was so much alike it would have all the same internals as the vr-9000 but it dont alot of diffrent things on the board,maybe the 88 board is the same but when it comes to parts in the board its like the 3900hp the 88 is configerated a little diffren,i am not saying that the 88 dosnt have alot of the same stuff but the 3900hp is suposed to be just alike. superstar has had a radio out for a while looks the same as a vr-9000.i got a lot of mods for the 3900hp and i am going to do them to my vr-9000.well only a tech could tell us for sure,but we cant seem to get one to jump in.anyway good day 10///////4 |
