1) Add rejection to the radio so you don't hear others that may be close. 2) Yes they do. 3) No they don't sell them. 307 |

Down here in the sticks we call them signal choppers and they do work good especially if you have a radio with too much receive. |

i have installed channel guards in both my 959 and my 2950 they are very good for adding selectivity to your radio. i did a rought test on the dx-959 with 2500UV one channel away you could hear the generator tone add the filter it took 40,000UV to do the same thing that is a major inprovement and i my case makes a huge diffrence in ch 20 when im talking to our morning group. bruce |

the seller will ask you what radio and will send instructions with the filter |

I had one installed in my P-400 it worked just as advertized, but it totaly disabled my noise blanker and was installed as per instructions. As I had 9 s-units of noise continuously the guard came out.By the way this was a cbc unit 7.8 meg.for same IF. |

big bob some how it got between the blanker and the incomming signal a noise blanker will not work if you have provided selectivy at its input because you modify the rise/ fall time of the pluse. Now i have 5 of the filters in 5 diffrent radios now and they all work fine. |

I had it installed by a tech according to the instructions,he didn't think it would work he was right.I had him take it out cause I wouldn't get it back for a month otherwise. After the kids in the area grew up the bleed-over stopped until the next crop. jyd who are you?Bruce is a pretty smart guy ,he offers a lot of good sense info.I've been sitting here trying to decide what to say next.THATS RIGHT???!!!who are you?? |

what do you mean, who am i? i was agreeing with bruce.dont know about you,but i learn alot from bruce,307,181 and some of the rest of the boy on this forum.i am not a tech, but i have alot of people bring me their radios to work on.i do it for free just to learn.the only thing of mine that that has been fixed by a real tech was my palomar 250,cause i couldnt find out what was wrong with it.it had a short under the relay, and good ol 307 fixed it for me.i just think big bob got confused somewhere.good day |
