I am setting up a base and was wondering if anyone can reccomend a good omni-directional antenna besides the A-99 or other antennas of this type, single"stick" antennas I have been told can cause TVI a lot of the time and I live right in the middle of town. But I bet the subject line will get someone thinking.

The thunder 8 from signal engineering is bi-directional through a switch and I believe it can be switched to omni.A lot of tvi can be cleared up using a low-pass filter, mine's from MFJ.Although if you run more than 4-watts and/or are closer than 100'to am/fm rec.and exposed tv ants.you should make nice to your neighbors and buy them hi-pass filters for their gizmos.
