I would like to build a two element, verticly aligned beam...well two of them to be exact. Something along the lines of a Y-Quad minus the flat side, and stack these little puppies. Question: What determines the distance between the two, to calculate the boom length ? If anyone could point me in the general direction I would appreciate it much. Backinit after 16 yr (2x2x2x2) absence when I used PDL II stacked and was forever hooked. Right now I have up a Smokin Gunn II...just a tad pricy to stack but at least this one lives up to its claims. dj |

Stacked PDL-2s would outperform the 'Raker. |

1 wavelength between beams is the optimum spacing to get the full 3db gain from stacking quadbeams. you will still get positive gains at a closer spacing but probably not the full 3 db.i wouldnt get any lower than 18ft (1/2 wave)as you wouldnt get near enuff of the added gain to make it worth doing. imo |
