I don't know how this co-phase design works, if it makes a directional antenna, or more like co-phase antennas on a truck. I know some guys that came up with a design that makes the co-phaseing like a two element beam. That makes it necessary for a rotor, and a better mounting structure like a tower. Since your gonna have to invest in a rotor and tower, why not go with a real beam, especially since the cost of two A99s, plus the co-phasing kit would cost more than a M103 beam, which I think works much better. scrapiron |

scrap who it works SIMPLY is you feed the antennas with coax now you add or remove a lengh of coax from one antenna and depending on how you do it you have ENDFIRE or BROADSIDE signals. you can play all kinds of tricks with that the result a crude but efective 2 el beam. Hams on 80, 40 and 20 meters have done this for years your AM broadsact stations use this method too. The cost well it isnt cheep and you got to do it right but how many people can turn a 80 meter beam? As for towers in my county putting up a tower you have to have a engeneer sign off on it ant it has to withstand 130 mile per hour winds which no tower i know of is rated at. Most dont get the permit and few get caught me i play it safe with a MFJ vert and dypoles |
