OK, I give up. I've been in the electronics business for over 40 years, building, designing, repairing. Have my 1st Cclass and two ham class tickets. I just want to turn down the LED brightness more than the 3 position switch will allow. Little slip of paper included with radio states S-980 Dimmer Control board "is located between the DC imput choke and the front panel assembly. The board is brown in color and is marked IMMER ADJ? VR-1 adjusts brilliance.............etc" Well I've looked and opened and moved and poked all around this area and the only VR-1 I see controls RF gain and is on the main motherboard. Another thing, between the DC choke and front panel is over 7 inches. Lots of real estate there. Where's the 'little brown board'? |
